Could anything be more soothing and calm than a coconut-creamy, slightly sweet, slightly spicy bowl of curry? I often sigh as I slowly enjoy the first mouthful. What a joy to have Sawatdee Thai Cuisine in Sherwood. I can have that melty, comfort food Tuesday through Saturday.
Sawatdee has a full menu of Thai favorites with your choice of vegetarian or carnivore additions. While my long-time favorite has been the Red Curry with chicken, I just discovered Lana’s Favorite is now Angie’s favorite!
Lana’s Favorite comes with chicken, thin rice noodles, tofu, red onions, and bean sprouts in Thai yellow curry then topped with crushed peanuts. I added a little rice to my bowl, too. Even Sawatdee’s $7 smaller lunch portion of curry overwhelmed my noodles and needed a scoop of rice.
Brian is a big fan of the Spicy Green Bean ‘Pad Prik-Khing’ entree with stir-fried chicken, green beans, bell peppers, Thai chili paste and shredded kaffir lime leaves. It is quite tasty and lighter than the curry.
We both love adding some potstickers to the meal. The house dipping sauce is wonderful.
I fully admit to being a snob when it comes to strip-mall dining. However, in Sherwood, where strip-mall dining is nearly the only offering, you gotta get over it. I’m so glad I did with Sawatdee Thai Cuisine. It’s the best take-out food in Sherwood.
And, if you “dine in,” know that the staff is great, the decor is inviting, and space is limited.
